At a recent Mid-America EMMY Awards gathering in St. Louis, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) asked the master of ceremonies for the event, Mike Leonard of NBC's Today Show, to host a workshop about his approach to news. It was entitled, "The Art of Story Telling." Leonard discussed his book, "The Ride of Our Lives: Roadside Lessons of an American Family" which is based on a road trip with his wife and family of four grown children and his parents. He then explained the life experiences and work ethic that has helped him gain and keep employment at the network level in a highly competitive field.
